The leathers we use are high quality and many have natural finishes and thus need regular care.
They are easily damaged by all harsh cleaning agents. For this reason, never use stain removers, solvents, terpentine, shoe polish or other unsuitable agents.
Regular treatment with a care kit will help keep the leather soft and supple for many years since properly cared for leather is beautiful for a long time.
The following link will take you to more leather care advice.
When using a stain remover, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
For aniline and semi-aniline leather, we recommend care products from LCK or Leder-Reinhardt.
Varnished wood surface
Regular care ensures the beauty of the surface is preserved much longer.
Varnished furniture surfaces should generally only be wiped dry with a duster.
In the case of heavy dirt, a damp (not wet) cloth can be used for cleaning.
A neutral soap cleaner (approx. 5% concentration) can be added to the cleaning water if necessary. Afterwards wipe over with clean water and rub dry.
Furniture polishes and waxes should not be used for cleaning because treatment with these products can result in surface defects, for example, spotting.
Recoating is also made more difficult after using these products (e.g. pinholing).
Oiled/waxed wood surfaces
Care:
For the care and revitalisation of wood surfaces (every 2-4 years) apply the wood oil thinly and sparingly with a cotton cloth and, after 15-20 minutes, polish dry.
Cleaning:
treat the dirty surfaces or black areas of the wood with an abrasive pad that is soaked in the wood oil and apply gentle pressure in the direction of the grain. Afterwards polish dry with a cotton cloth.
Please make sure:
that all oil-soaked cloths and abrasive pads are rinsed well and disposed of after use! Danger – highly flammable!
As with all textiles in daily use, fabric needs regular care as it is subject to constant soiling from general use and dust. To preserve the good appearance the wonderful colours, use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush and moderate suction in the same direction as the fabric pile to the greatest extent possible.
And the golden rule: always remove stains as quickly as possible.
Warning: cleaning spirits, acetone, etc. can cause the foam to disintegrate in the event of moisture penetration.
If the stain cannot be removed with water and a pH-neutral soap-water solution, please use the link for more stain advice or consult a specialist if necessary.
